| "No chemicals, no chichi!" Berlin-based manufacturer Mampe creates "Sehnsuchts-Gin by arcona"

Rostock/Berlin, October 2, 2023 - The love of gin brought together the Berlin schnapps manufacturer Mampe, which has existed since 1831, and the Rostock-based arcona Hotels & Resorts. Especially as the manufactory and the traditional Hotel Elephant in Weimar, an arcona establishment, have an elephant in their logo. And so there is now a special "Sehnsuchts-Gin by arcona", which is served in all arcona hotels.

The elegant-looking bottle of the new “Sehnsuchts-Gin by arcona” stands on a table surrounded by containers.

"I am an avowed gin fan," reveals arcona boss Alexander Winter and is convinced: "The new long drinks will find many fans and are already enriching our bar menus." Mampe Managing Director Tom Hölzner is also delighted: "You can now also taste Arcona, because we have put together botanicals for the new arcona gin that are characteristic of the landscapes of the arcona hotels."

Natural, sustainable and locally produced

It took six months to develop and bottle the "Sehnsuchts-Gin by arcona". It is now available in all twelve arcona hotels, where bar guests can enjoy it neat and in various long drinks. In the hotel stores, the elegant half-liter bottle is available to take away for 38 euros.

Like all products from the Mampe manufactory, arcona gin is made from 100 percent natural ingredients. The basis is a regional wheat distillate of the highest quality, which is sustainably produced and refined by hand with juniper and first-class botanicals such as elderberry, spruce needles and citrus fruits. All recipes and processes are based on 190 years of experience in the production of high-quality spirits, and production takes place in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Bartender Romolus Tica lives by the motto: "Make the schnapps you love, love the schnapps you make."
